Looking for FFL - Coachella/Palm Springs - Interstate/Intrafamilial, Off-roster

My father in IL has an XD Mod 2 4" Service 9mm that he is looking to gift me as an early birthday present; he took it out to the range and wasn't a fan, something about being a pea-shooter compared to his 44, didn't feel right to him.

We need a semi-local FFL who knows what they're doing to help facilitate the transfer. The local FFLs I've discussed this with so far have advised to do the DOJ form... yikes.

I read GOLDEN_GUN's thread on this, and a few other threads on here, seems this shouldn't be an issue.

If you're in the valley, or surrounding areas please post up and we can discuss details. As a note, my father will keep the high-cap mags and just send the rest of the kit.

I can do it for you, im in the yucca valley area. Condor guns in desert hot springs would probably do it as well. You could also ask Lance at Tim's gunshop in 1000 palms. I have known both Torrey at condor and Lance at Tim's for years (atleast 20)and they are both great to deal with

Thanks. Interestingly enough, I went to Tim's to get a crush washer for my AR15 last week because I installed my muzzle brake before putting my gas block back on (hand guard and barrel nut swapped also).

I discussed this with Lance briefly and he was one of the guys that advised I do the DOJ form for $19. Not really faulting him or calling him out; as Kemasa explained on the phone to me earlier, even the DOJ has been known to provide bad info to FFLs regarding this situation.
