Any recent changes to SAE exemption?

We sent a converted Smith and Wesson revolver to a dealer this week and they claim that SAE is no longer valid for a converted gun. See discussion here:

    Thoughts?

    Thanks.

Went thru all my notes on both webinars and find no notes as to that subject. I don't think I fell asleep during the presentation but I wasn't on the edge of my seat either.

As far as we know nothing has changed regarding SAE Revolvers.

I have not heard of any changes, but it is actually a valid decision to send it back if they are not willing to transfer it due to sales tax issues. They could be considered the CA retailer and be responsible for ALL the sales tax. Claiming that it would be a straw purchase is quite bizarre.

There is nothing that says that the firearm can only originally be single action, unlike the change for semi-auto handguns. There is no list of single action revolvers. It is amazing what some come up with.
