Can an FFL do a Serial Number lookup for me?

I'm looking to do a PPT on my AR Pistol but I can remember if this AR Pistol was registered under myself or my wife. Can anyone find out for me if I provide the serial number of the lower? I tried Riflegear and hey said they can't unless I bought it from them. Thanks

No. Only thing an FFL can look up is their records. Riflegear was correct. There is a BOF Form that is a request for firearm records I believe.

As said, there is a CA DOJ form that you can request a list of all firearms "registered" to you.

Here let me google it for you...

This request must be accompanied along with a photocopy of your ID and must be notarized. Faxed copies will not be accepted and you may only request firearm ownership records for yourself. Not your wife. She will need to request also. Plus if this was done before firearm registration, 1-1-14 for long guns your search wont have them on there. Handguns should providing it was purchased when handguns were being registered. If you bought this YEARS ago it will not. This will not be a quick process and probably return results later than you will need. Since it is presumably a BB AR pistol, and something you purchased using SSE your records in the AFS should have it in there. But, since it is a BB AR pistol you would need to PPT This before 21st and you wouldn't have the records in time.
