HELP WITH A QUESTION REGARDING A SHOTGUN BUY

Hello I am not a citizen of the united States, I do not have a green card , I only have a passport and a VISA B1 , my visa is for ten (10) years and i have expired my 6 months permit to be in the States.

I wanna buy a SHOTGUN for home defense I do no have a AB 60 CA driver license but I can get it.

I heard that getting a hunting license can help me get a SHOTGUN but I don't know how to start.

I don't know that it can be done with a B1 visa. You usually need a longer term Visa like H1 or F1.

Also you must demonstrate the intention of making a home in the state you plan to buy the firearm:

FSC won't be needed in this case (shotgun) since the hunting license will exempt him. Hunting license is required to purchase any firearm and if OP intends to purchase handgun FSC will be needed for that.

As long as your Visa is valid and you get the hunting license requirements, can provide CA DL/ID you are fine.


However, OP, I am unclear on this part of your post:

Is your Visa still valid for 10 years or are you illegal now for the past 6 moths? I'm not sure which 6 month permit to be in the states you're referring to. That has not come up for any non-immigrant alien I've processed transactions for ever.

You can get a CA DL/ID with a Visa, I've seen multiple people with them. The AB60 one is if you are here illegally I believe.

You're fine. Bring your CA DL + I94 Paperwork + Hunting License to most any shop and they can sell you a shotgun.

If your CA DL does not have your current address on it check with your shop/FFL on what they will accept. I can give you a list, but it's only relevant at our office (despite what's "legal").
