Here is the scenario.
I sold my AR to a guy on December 13. His pickup date is 12/23/16. If he is notified of a delay, that will put him past the pick up date of 12/31/16. Since the rifle is registered to me, can't he cancel the DROS after the delay notification? Then I get the rifle back and give him a refund. The LGS said that they would have to reregister to me which would go past the 12/31 date. That sounds wrong.
I'm the registered owner until the buyer picks it up. Correct??? Or is the rifle in permanent limbo since the pickup would be past the 12/31 for assault weapons.
