As said, removing the upper works, but one thing to consider is effective 01-Jan-2017 a rifle with a bullet button is also considered a so-called a-salt weapon. The problem is that until it is registered, it is not official.

Not sure, but it seems having the BB isn't the qualifying issue, but being featured is. Seems that after 1/1/17, and an otherwise featured AR becomes an assault weapon, there is no longer a need to have a BB?

Depending on what the CA DOJ does, in theory, once the BB so-called a-salt weapon is registered, then it would not matter if the BB is taken off. Until it is classified, it would be a problem since there is until 2018 to register a BB so-called a-salt weapon and without the BB it would be illegal.

A complete lower is not semi-auto nor center-fire, so nothing applies to that.

What would a pawn shop with ars in pawn do if they dont have new compliant parts this late in the game?

Nothing if they are pawned, at least until the item transfers to the shop. The rest, sell out of state or turn in. I'm curious as tyo how many shops this will affect, I would think the smart ones would have stopped taking items in some time ago.

Like how we posted signs about this and had everyone redeem them before the 21st! We put signs up about this around August 1st.
