Certification date. The letter I got with the packet said the forms should start being used on 1/16. Any paperwork you started before then should be fine on old forms.

I also received my sample pack. I looked online and the new form is not on there yet so if you order online it is a good chance that you are getting the old forms.
I just called 703-870-7526 and the gentleman said that the new forms are not available yet for ordering, and to call back on 1-9-17.

Correct, I didn't mean to imply you couldn't use them sooner.

With as little as they gave everyone I'd wait until the 16th start using them as once your out you will have to print them online until more show up

Yeah, that is a valid point, but there is also the question about what form is needed if you deliver the firearm after the 16th. I decided to start using the form so that all 4473 in 2017 are the same.

i don't think that would matter for delivery as they have already filled out the form before then, but have you talked to a rep yet to get clarification? i like the idea of them being all in unison for 2017

Well technically it's the right form for a few more days at least but betts is right Feds thought now all those are your problem.
