    F1-Vista Help Please

I have a customer who wants to purchase a firearm with an F1-Visa but does not have a Visa that looks like the passport.* He says they do not issue the passport looking visa with an F1-Visa.* He does have the signed application approving the F1-Visa as well as the passport with the F1 stamps in it.* From the research I have done online, it seems as though this is the correct documentation but does this work for a firearms purchase if he has all other necessary document such as hunting license, I-9, etc.?

Yeah, I normally see the I-94 printout, sometimes the official doc. I'm more looking for the I94 being valid (with Hunting LIcense) since that's what DOJ will validate against. Out of all the Visa guys I've done there was only 1 reject due to some government document mixup. He was on an H1 type (some other work visa) and DOJ said his visa was invalid. They never did deport him so I guess it was really valid, but not valid enough to get a firearm even though he already had a few (from previous purchases)...

It can depend on the country of origin. For example, the countries that participate in the Visa Waiver program (eg. Canada), may not have the Passport looking VISA stamp in the passport. They'll just have their F1, H1, TN visa as the round stamp.

They should have something with the I94 admittance number on it. The I94 white papers were being phased out in 2013 [US immigration switched to all digital processing]. But an Alien on a visa can go to the USCIS website using their passport info and get a print out with their I94 number on it.

I797's can be used and will have a I94 number on it, those you'll see when an Alien resides in the US long enough to switch visa types or renew via mail without crossing the border.

We usually see the printout or the official government paper with their I94 on it.
