    Roster Question - Armscor MAP1 FS (AP9)

I'm looking to purchase a MAP1 (Steel, FS, 9mm). The roster is calling this an AP9 FS/Steel.

It looks like this is the same pistol. Am I correct in that a pistol will not DROS if it is off roster??????

So if it DROSs it's good to go which means it's on roster?

How are people buying the MAP1 if it's not specifically listed on the roster? Please tell me, I want one.

it has to match the markings and the SKU or number the Roster has it listed as well as any color stated on the roster

      this is on roster
      MAPP1 MS / Steel, Polymer Pistol 3.8" 9mm 1/1/2017

      and this

      MAPP1 FS / Steel, Polymer Pistol 4.5" 9mm 1/1/2017

I was looking to get one as well but the Roster seems so vague. I don't think anywhere on the Map1 does it say AP9 FS steel, the Mapp FS is the Polymer version. How did people get the Map1 STeel ap9?

          heres the Map1

and under the Roster http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/safeguns_resp.asp theres one listed as AP9 which should be the Map1 STeel, I wonder if Armscor will ever be able to fix it or atleast put some sort of verification on their box that it is indeed the AP9

                I guess they're finally obsolete.

A few years ago I was trying to obtain the steel version but Armscor discontinued so AP9 is still on the handgun roster but no longer being produced. The only version available is MAPP1 full size version with the polymer frame. The mid size version is not on the roster.

I found a MAP1 in L.A. but my local FFL won't process because of the stupid AP9 roster designation.

The gun that was on the roster got changed. The gun now sold is not rostered because of the changes

Supposedly the DROS system updated the new SKU "MAP1" but the published roster was never updated "AP9".

It's discussed in this thread (specifically post #22)

Yes, and obviously still not updated. Still listed as "AP9".

If the gun has a new model name and is stamped with a new model name, the gun is not the same gun that was on the roster. The engraving or stamping makes it a new gun which must be re tested with microstamping capabilities. This is one of the reasons all the rugers fell off the roster.

It is not a rostered gun. Even RSR took it out of "available handguns for California".
