Hello all:
My father in law decided to gift his Glock to my wife from Texas.
After the gun reached the CA FFL, Texas shipping FFL did not include the AI number, so my wife received a call from the CA FFL requesting a fix.
My wife works full time, so she asked me to do the leg work. When I called CA FFL for more information, the lady on the phone was constantly accusing me of doing something illegal.
After Texas FFL provided the AI number through email few weeks ago, my wife and I arrived to CA FFL to start the DRO. To avoid any problems, I decided to stay inside the car. Come to a surprise, the lady who received the AI number through the email did not extract the information and put it together with all the transferring paper work, so my wife was turned away.
I entered the CA FFL later to inquired about the situation, apparently it caused a red flag.
The same lady called back after the weekend and informed me the gun is getting shipped back to Texas, since they don't feel comfortable with the transfer.
I did the calculation on all the cost, it will cost my father in law about $170 to re-ship again ($70 return shipping and $100 shipping to new CA FFL from Texas).
Is there any options to deal with this situation?
Can CA FFL send it directly to another CA FFL to complete the transfer?
Much appreciated on all the inputs
