PPT of a shotgun - shipping - SoCal to NorCal

I'm interested in purchasing a shotgun from a private seller in SoCal. What is the transfer process?

Is this still considered a PPT ($35 fee) or would this be similar to buying from an online distributor ($75+ dealer fee and sales tax on the firearm)?

How should the seller ship the firearm to my FFL? Can they ship it themselves or do they need to go through an FFL on their end?

If the firearm is shipped, then it is not considered a PPT.
The receiving CA FFL dealer can legally charge any amount of money to facilitate the transfer.

It is up to the receiving CA FFL dealer to determine how they want the firearm shipped to them.

    Therefore...
You need to contact the CA FFL dealer you want to use and find out from them how much they charge and how they want the firearm shipped to them.

      not considered a PPT.

its only a CA-defined PPT when both the CA-buyer and CA-seller both go in person to the same CA-dealer to do the transfer.

since it is being shipped, CA does not consider it to be a PPT. as such, it is not limied to the $35 total PPT cost ($25 DROS + $10 dealer)

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
