    Students buying CA rifles

Due to the impending laws I have 4 friends that I am going to be hitting up the LGS with to buy AR lowers. I'm the one upstanding "gun guy" they know and I've convinced them that $50 today gets them a chair when the music stops at the end of the year.

Guy #1 has his own home and his CA DL matches his 4473 address
Guy #2 just bought a home but his CA DL and his vehicle reg match his parent's address where he until recently lived
Guy #3 is a student, his CA DL and Passport match his parent's address (in CA) but not where he currently lives (lots of apartment hops)
Guy #4 is a student and I don't even know his situation yet

The plan is to buy tomorrow, I need to get them in ship-shape so there are no hiccups at the LGS.

I'm pretty sure #1 is all set. I'm concerned about the rest unless their CA DL matches an address that they are comfortable reporting on the 4473 (yes lying on the form I'm sure is some kind of horrible thing and is not to be recommended)

    Guy one is fine

Guy two is SOL till he fixes his stuff to current

Guy three can't have a passport that matches because there is no address on a passport.

What chair exactly are you talking about for the end of the year? If you are thinking you can build an AW next year, you are mistaken.

#3 is a lying ahole then, he told me it matched guess he didn't look very close.

As for AW/chair they can build featureless, or fixed magazine (with new definition) unless I'm mistaken, and until those get targeted for new regulation

It might be more useful to make sure all your buddies are registered to vote. That will help more than a few lowers.

True but you will still be able to buy lowers next year anyway.

Hah, one of them is a *diehard* Berney Sanders fan... and thinks they should be banned, but he also doesn't want to be told he can't have one.

            Can't make this stuff up.

              Wow....lol.

Trust me, I am working on him every day, at least half of our company is gun owners, its only a matter of time before the politics rubs off on him... or he gets mugged by reality.

Back on topic, does California DOJ require anything more than what the 4473 requires if they are only buying (rifle DROS) lowers?

I've gone back in the lab and made sure they have utility bills with current address on them.

Just go in on a jig buy with all of them then order up two 80's each. Simple.

In the mean time they can fix their addresses and whatnot. And register to vote as well. And sign petitions.

All of the students are at least 21 years old, correct?

That is to say, must be 21 - Feds say a lower is neither a 'rifle/shotgun' nor a 'handgun', and forbid transfer of 'other' to under-21.

I can give you plenty of info, but the nugget that matters MOST is --- ask the LGS you plan on sending them to what they accept. I can give you a whole list of items that are acceptable, but if the LGS you go to does not accept by policy it's moot.

Unless I'm the LGS you were sending them to I can't tell you for sure what they will need or what they can get.

Solid advice ugimports thank you! Thanks to others as well. I called yesterday and I think my boys are squared away.

I'm buying In-n-Out for the crew as a thank you. The more people we get "on the hook" the more voters on our side. No catch and release here!
