    DROS Delayed

Hello first off I am new here and thanks for taking the time to understand my problem. I purchased a DOJ approved firearm online from budsgunshop.com and had it shipped to my local FFL here. This would be my first firearm and I am a strong supporter of the constitution. I paid the FFL for firearm safety card, background check and transfer fees. I was told I had to wait 10 days so after 7 days I get a call from the FFL telling me that my transfer is being delayed. Today I received a letter from the DOJ confirming the delay. It has now been 14 days and the letter I got from the DOJ says that if it goes past 30 days than under the FFL discretion they can release the firearm to me. I called the FFL and they told me they would not release it to me after the 30 days because they don't like to do that. He told me I would have to redo the background check. Please any advise here would help. I've already given these people alot of money and I don't want to give them anymore for another background check that will be delayed anyway. I think I know why it was delayed though. When I was a 14 year old child I threatened my step father at the time with a golf club because he put his hands on my mom. Needless to say I spent a few months in juvenile hall and was charged with a misdemeanor. I don't feel that my constitutional rights should be taken away because of something I did as a CHILD. I am a responsible law abiding adult with no record. Im considering suing the attorney general DOJ if my gun is denied.

    1. What after the 30 days it is still delayed. I walk into the gunstore and ask them to see my gun then tell them it is my property and I am leaving with it and just walk out? I don't see how I can get in legal trouble being as it is my property and they are allowed to release it.

You already asked this question in another forum. Don't ask the same question in multiple forums. It is not polite to the people who take the time to answer you, and will result in a disjointed discussion. If you want your other post moved, ask a mod to move it.

Maybe he wants to know how many FFLs would shot at him for trying to run off with "his" firearm lol
