    Obtaining DROS receipt

    Hello all,

Thinking ahead to the 2017 registration I am sure it will be required to have date of purchase etc that would be on a DROS receipt.
I have one were to misplace a receipt and the FFL used is no longer in business, how could one obtain a copy of the reciept?

    Thank you!

How are you so sure? I highly doubt it.

And to your question - No there is really no way to.

You don't think such information as date of purchase will be on the reg form?

Probably month/year would be good enough.

If you acquired the gun outside of CA and moved it here, or if it were a long gun acquired in CA before 2014, there would be no record available to CA inquiry.

Make a good guess - it would be near-impossible to refute.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Sorry to bother you all & Librarian again, but if the long gun had been purchased after 2014 in CA, how could one obtain records?

              Thank you for your time
