Checking to see if I have this right. To sell a second hand firearm we have to be enrolled in the CAPSS system, but we don't have to do any CAPSS submittals to sell one? From the CAPSS FAQ:

15. I only deal in FIREARMS and I have an active secondhand dealer license; am I
required to report into CAPSS?
No you are not required to report FIREARMS into CAPSS as a dealer you STILL must report
through FDAS/DROS however; you are REQUIRED to register as a secondhand dealer in
CAPSS in order for your license to remain active.

My understanding was you had to register with CAPSS to get your Second Hand Dealers License, but there was a carve-out for guns, because DES took care of everything gun related.

That was my understanding as well. We signed up but have never used CAPSS
