Current COE wait time?

Anybody know the status on the current wait time for a COE? It's been 8 weeks since they received my new application and i haven't gotten anything yet. Has anybody else been waiting this long as well? I was under the assumption that I'd get my COE before my FFL, which i mailed out the same day as the FFL, and i got the FFL about two weeks previously.

I just received my COE renewal in the mail today, they received it the first week of June, the Coe is dated June 29th and it just showed up in the mail today 8-1-16

Interesting.. when I called they said they received my COE app 6-1. So I'm hoping I get it this week. My FFL was fairly fast, but I guess this is a lot slower.

I'm in the same boat. Sent my new application 6-7-16. Been about 8 weeks and nothing yet.

When I called, I was told they only have one person processing COE apps for the entire state of California. Makes a lot of sense.

I got the same run around by a lady. When I first had mine done but it still didn't take that long. I just renewed mine on the 22nd and was told it would be done and sent no later than the 27th of this month. Just future info. Make sure you send it your renewal at least a month ahead of your due date to make sure you don't overlap. Since you have to turn around and Mail a copy back in to the same place. Lol

Been 9 weeks so far, got the run around from the same lady.. who gave me a bunch of crap for calling, said she had 1000+ on her desk. and that im somewhere in her "pile" that shes processing. I've got two rifles and a P38 on hold because i cant even use my FFL, without my COE.

If they are neglecting hiring personnel and taking excess funds to use for pet projects like APPS, isn't that a misappropriation of funds?

I plead the fifth, or did that get taken away with the second. Ah hell we are so screwed!

The real indicator is not when it was received but rather when your check was cashed. This was my experience.

Mailed in my renewal on 7-14. Check was cashed this week, still waiting.

About two weeks away after you see check clear your bank. Again, just my experience.

My renewal oddly took about the same time for what ever that's worth.

I was told that it was rec'vd on 6-1. That puts me at a little over ten weeks or so, with no COE. Crappy thing is that i have two rifles that i cant get shipped to me because of this.. Even though i have my FFL, i cant use it. Seems like a waste to me to not even be able to use it.

there isnt an initial charge for the first year. just the livescan fee, and the DOJ/FBI fees which came out to like $95. I've got the two rifles, and a P38 that im waiting on that i cant get until CA decides to mail it out :/
