What Happens if COE Expires?

I sent in my COE renewal back in mid June (before they sent me my renewal notice). DOJ cashed my check June 26. My COE expires August 1 and I've still not received my new one. I called DOJ and got their recording; "it takes about 30 days for a renewal,... don't call us to check status -- we're too busy." I left a message anyway but no response. Am I out of business August 2?

If you don't receive it and they don't record it, then yes, you would not be able to conduct business, but you will know that when you can't access the DES.

Not sure where you are, but I found out you have an "agent" assigned to you. Could be they are by region, not sure. But find out who that is and email them direct. I will PM you the person I've emailed before regarding my CFD renewal (and ensuring everything was good to go) from my last COE update.

They got me the new one the day my old one expired so all is well I guess.

For Future Reference, the paperwork I have received states that they will cancel your CFD 30 days after the expiration.
