    Quick question

We are having a disagreement on the shop over the Mossberg 930 SPX 12 Gauge Shotgun.

    Is this California Legal?

Don't see why not. What is the concern?

I bought one in CA last year.

    ETA there's 85360 and the pistol-grip version 85370

Fixed stocks, fixed tube magazine with 8 round capacity, 18 1/2 inch legal length.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

What would make it not legal? It has a pistol grip but the stock is fixed.

What was both sides of the argument? I don't see it being non compliant. Just because it has the pistol grip? We sell ones like this all the time that are semiauto with the grip. Fixed stock its fine.

Sorry guys I got crazy busy yesterday and didn't get back here.

My argument was the stock was fixed thus legal.

The other side was it was a semi auto with a pistol grip.

I know strange but I think we are all loosing our minds out here.

            PC 30515 in relevant part
            (a) Notwithstanding Section 30510, “assault weapon” also means any of the following:
            ...
            (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following:
            (A) A folding or telescoping stock.

            (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.
            (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine.

            (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.
Because the safety is placed on top of the receiver near the stock attachment, it's hard to use when also using a pistol grip.
