Ghost Gunner CNC Mill for rent???

This is strictly a "what if" question, I dont intend to do this myself.

I want to get some expert option on the illegality of purchasing a Ghost Gunner Mill and then renting it out to anyone who wants to make their own small parts. The mill can be use for firearm lowers and also many many other non firearm parts. If the rental agreement was in writing and I did nothing to help the renter with operating the machine, would there be any legal problems? I am not saying this is a smart thing to do, again, just a what if type question.......

My guess, probably a bad idea. You could however sell-it and then buy-it-back after they're done.

I believe illegal. When the 80% craze hit there was a machine shop in the valley that would rent out their gear. Got shut down. Was basically told 80% work had to be done by the 80% owner themselves and gear they owned themselves.

The shop tried this approach next and was again out of business.

All your input makes sense, I think it would be dumb to try to do, unless I wanted to be the poster child for california gun rights....too bad this is the system we live with, one based on fear instead of education and empowerment ......
