    Approval after Deny

Do I need to create a new 4473 for an approval after deny? I'm still within the 30 days from the first DROS notice. I already marked "Denied" in 21C, but don't see where I can mark approval after deny.

I'm thinking I need to do a brand new 4473 (leaving existing as is), but note the DROS+NTN number on new 4473 and not wait 10 days for this one since I'm after the original 10 days and within the 30 days from original DROS.

    Does that sound correct?

    Thanks,

Personally, I'd try (note try) to contact DOJ and get their input...noting time, date and person spoken to. Then, keep all related paperwork together and some notations regarding the situation.

The DOJ could care less about the 4473 though, correct? Or moreso I should not care about their opinion on the federal form? In the DES system I can click Delivered and the first release date was reset to today and provides me a 30 day window right now.

Correct on the 4473. I'd just generate a new 4473 perhaps keeping the original with the new one and make an appropriate notation in 30c indicating the situation on the new one.

You could check with the BATF, but my thought would be to fill out 21d, even though it is for delayed, and mark the proceed date. You could also cross out the denied with the date that you received notice. Also put a note in 30c that it was initially denied, then changed to proceed.

I would tend to correct the existing 4473 rather than creating another one since it looks like you are changing things, but attaching the old would might work.

No, you should not listen the CA DOJ with respect to anything on the 4473.

The date of the proceed should restart the 30 days with respect to the background check.

Per my last audit or the audit before. Can't keep them straight. The first 4473 would be he led denied. You would then fill out a new 4473. The DOJ person should have given you a new NICS number to put where the DROS number goes

I got a new NTN number, but the DROS number didn't change. They kept the same DROS. I think I'll do the new 4473, but include the DROS + NTN number.
