    DROS Delayed

Just got a call from my FFL that my DROS was delayed. They didn't tell me why.

My ID is current but my registration for my truck is not current. I paid my registration online and haven't received my new registration yet so I used my old (current?) registration.

    Would this cause my delay?

I own several firearms and have purchased from this FFL before.

I called and they told me they will not release it if my background check comes back undetermined.

Maybe I messed up the paper work when I submitted it? Like wrong city of birth or something?

My problem is I'm leaving out of state at the end of the month and won't be back for two weeks.

Does the 30 days to pick my firearms up before having to do another dros start the day I started the DROS or when it gets released?

Could, though I imagine it's because DOJ has been hit with a very large number of DROS entries due to pending legislation both state and Federally and their system is overloaded...that's my guess.

So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

That is not what the problem is. There is likely a mix-up or some information that needs to be further investigated.

Ok. Could it be I put in the wrong information such as place of birth? I do dumb things like that.

I would say the reason is something was either entered incorrectly, or there is something in your past that may have triggered it. Have you ever been arrested?

Yes. I have. Not in several years though. Not since I've started owning firearms.

I also own several firearms. I have never been delayed. I probably entered some information wrong.

Will they have me do a live scan or do I need to just stand by? Will they send me a letter with steps on what to do?

            Thank you guys.

If you've previously been arrested, I'd say that's what triggered the delay. If the arrest is all cleared up and not prohibiting reason, I would do a live scan to clear

                Ok.

Weird how this has never happened before. The PFEC even said I was food to go three years ago.

Honestly, with previous arrest it's a crap shoot.

                    What was the arrest for?

Is the doj sending me a letter with instructions?

What if I put down wrong info on the DROS?

Unless you were the one entering the information in the computer( unlikely) then you entered nothing wrong. The information is scanned of your ID. If you have a old record then this sometimes causes a delay. I would not recommend doing the live scan unless you are denied. Even with the live scan with the limited amount of time you have you would flip to undetermined, your FFL already stated he will not deliver your firearm.

DOJ will send you the general delay letter telling you nothing. My advice is to wait it out and see if they release it from the delay. If they don't get your refund and then we can help you with a few other options to get this figured out.

Ok. Unless recent legislation has passed I should be ok.

From what I understand I have thirty days from the date of be cleared to pick up the firearm?

They told me is against tyne law to release an undetermined firearm.

It's perfectly legal for the FFL to give you the firearm. They are ignorant.

                              Good luck.
