intrafamilial gift transfer Nor cal

New user and new resident here. Trying to find a FFL that is willing to do an intrafamilial gift transfer of an off roster pistol. I've called over 15 places and most FFL holders tell me it's illegal or to fill out the OPLAW forum and to transfer the firearm personally which I know would be federally illegal. One store owner told me he could do the transfer but would not because he "doesn't know me personally and does not want to risk his license"

If anyone knows of any FFL holders in or near Humboldt county that are competent I would really appreciate the suggestion. Thanks.

To clarify, is this an interstate transfer? Your post says intrafamilial only, but from what it sounds like it is interstate. I know you may not want to drive too far, but we're in Fremont and can do it. However, I believe there was a guy in Eureka that might be able to help which is still far, but much closer than I am. Unfortunately, I don't know many options up in your area. If the firearm is worth it you may want to take the drive (twice) to somewhere a few hours away.. make it a weekend drive thing.

Yes it is an interstate transfer, otherwise I would just fill out the form provided by the DOJ and send it in. Eureka is not far from me (about 30 min.) but I called every FFL holder I could find in eureka with no luck. Fremont is just too far for me to make the drive twice if it wasn't for that 10 day wait I might have considered it. I have tried calling other places a little further out (2 hr drive) but still can't find anyone who is aware of or willing to do this type of transfer.

Had my DROS System turned off over a year ago ... just too little money for at-home FFL for me, although I still maintain my License.

I know a guy in Ukiah if you want to drive here twice ... let me know and I'll get you in touch with him.

No it was not Oliver that helped me, can't remember his name but he was very well informed and so was the other guy behind the counter. Definitely my go to spot for transfers or online purchases now.
