    Plumb Crazy Lower Legality

Are Plumb Crazy lowers legal to transfer? Someone brought in a Plumb Crazy lower to PPT but we came across some articles saying that ATF has said that they are illegal.

Does anyone know if this is true?

    AFAIK...

In 2013, the BATFE ruled that all PlumCrazy lowers were illegal firearms.

Has to do with the way the manufacturer (PCF Manufacturing) affixed the serial number to the receiver.
The method used did not comply with Federal laws/regulations [27 CFR 478.92].

During testing/evaluations, the BATFE FTB discovered that the metal serial number plate could be easily removed without damaging or destroying the receiver.
In order to be legal, a metal serial number plate on a polymer receiver needs to be affixed in such a way that removing it would cause significant damage to or destroy the receiver.
