Shipping Stripped AR Lower to CA

First time post for me and I am hoping a CA FFL can help me out. I searched the FFL forums a bit and couldn't find my specific question. We have a customer who purchased a stripped AR15 lower from our website. We have never shipped to California before so I want to make sure we do the right thing. I have registered with CA DOJ to get a shipping approval number. My question is when we enter the information for the shipping approval do we mark the receiver as a handgun or long rifle? I know AR receivers are considered handguns by the ATF and subject to 72 hour wait outside of CA but wasn't sure about this for the shipping approval. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

No, receivers are considered "other", which is not a long gun, which limits who can buy them.

The receiver would be a long gun for the CFLC. It could be a hand gun receiver, but then the buyer would have to be exempt since it would not be on the certified list.
