    2 seperate PPT's on one 4473 form?

If I have a customer doing two seperate PPT's with two different people, can I do the entire transaction on one 4473 to save him some cash?

one or more 4473s doesn't affect the cost to the customer.

it is how many DROSes you do in one session.

you can do multiple PPT DROSes in one session so CADOJ only gets a single $25 payment.

if you want to do those DROSes on a single 4473 or multiples does not change the CADOJ costs.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

We suggest this. When its multiple PPTs like this to do it on separate 4473s. If there is a problem with one of the firearms or purchaser is denied then it make it easier to have them all on separate 4473s. Like said. Cost to customer is the same, but may save you some headache as the FFL if you do them on separate forms.

I also do it this way. Multiple DROS with same buyer and seller or dealer stock on one 4473. Second 4473 for different seller. I have had a multi gun ptt with different sellers come back delayed on just one firearm. It was a mess.

I would do one 4473 since that means less 4473s for an IOI to find a mistake.

If the purchaser is denied, it really makes no difference if it on one 4473 or not, other than having to correctly fill out each 4473 and file each one. Then there could be the question as to why you have two 4473s for a person who is denied. It is really one transaction as far as the Feds are concerned, so no reason to have multiple 4473s.

If there is a problem with one firearm, then all it means is to cross one out with a note and don't write in the count until it is approved.

            Less paperwork is good.

I guess that would work too. I'm in the middle of ATF audit and Ill ask her tomorrow what her suggestion is on this and get back to you all. Like said, PPT is a CA thing and I doubt the G-men will have much to say about it. And, as for the DOJ, they are separate anyhow since they will see different DROS's in an inspection.

The Feds should say nothing in regards to CA issues. The only thing that involves them is whether one or more 4473 should be done.

BTW, I asked the person that I know at the BATF and he said one 4473.

There is a DROS for every firearm transferred in CA, but I doubt that the BATF would care about the various types, or perhaps I should say that they should not care.

We have 2 4473s that will be reviewed tomorrow and are exactly this situation. I'll get info and pass along.

Thanks Kemasa and everyone for your input. I will keep it on 1 4473 per the BATF. Just to clarify, handguns and long guns do need to be on separate 4473's right?

No, you can list handguns, long guns, and other all on one 4473.

                          FOLLOW UP,

Just spoke with our ATF inspector and she said they would "rather" see them on 1 4473 since it would be less paperwork, but they can't tell you to only do them on 1 form. Its up to you as the dealer how you want to handle it.
