    Another Family Transfer Question

How are firearms transferred when the owner is dead? 2 cases here.
The first is from the deceased to grandson and it's a hand gun if that makes a difference. It's one of those deals where everyone knows grandpa wanted him to have it. How does it get transferred? Can it be transferred.
The second case where a man died and has a safe reported to have 30 or so weapons in it. The wife basically wants rid of them. His daughter wants them mostly to keep the druggie brother away from them. Can the wife of the deceased transfer the guns? Does community property work for firearms?
    Thanks.

    Both cases.

The executor of the deceased's estate can transfer the firearms.

Thanks Quiet, does the executor need to have proof of being the executor?
