Quick Undetermined number question.

Do they no longer send a letter with the NICS number on it?

I had a customer flip to undetermined on the first day I left for Shotshow (18th). I came back and as of today had still not received a number.

I did call and get it, but do we need to call all the time now?

We have had to call recently.

They don't even give you a DES notification that the DROS is no longer on delay, it just silently flips to undetermined.

I also noticed that the record of the original delay is no longer listed in my notifications. No record at all that it was ever delayed except the hard copy I printed when I originally got the delay.

I have never figured out why they were still sending the Denial letters to us in the mail when you have to acknowledge the notification in the DES and its the same thing they would snail mail to you. I don't see why they are paying for the extra time, help, stamp, paper, envelopes to mail these when you already have the same thing in the DES and can't do anything else until you've verified you have seen it.

Just a FYI update. I received the physical letter 02-01-2016.

It listed the date of the undetermined as 01-18-2016. The postage date was 1-24-2016. Obviously mailed after I talked to them. I have to agree I see no reason for 5he added cost of the mailed letter after they know they have provided me the information.

Strange system. And I still don't understand why they delete any record of the original delay.
