Intrafamily transfer. Can I use CCW?

My father is gifting a pistol to me. In the past I have always put my handgun safety card number on the DOJ form where it's asks for the number. Mine has recently expired and I was wondering if I can use my CCW issued number instead? If so do I just cross out the handgun safety and write in CCW?

I have used my CCW when buying a new firearm. Just not sure if it's possible to use in this instance.

    Thanks for the help.

I know it would work in lieu of fsc for safe handling but not sure if you could use it for that. Why not just go take the test?

Last year, they accepted a friend of mine's Report of Operation of Law of Intra-Familial Firearm Transaction, when he used his CA LTC in lieu of a HSC/FSC.

He wrote in the section that asks for...
Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) or Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) No.:
      X41 CCW Permit Holder

And attached a photo copy of his valid CA LTC permit.

Why go spend 25 more bucks on something I don't need when the only thing I might possibly need it for is one transfer? My CCW covers any new purchase. If it covers this as well then I might not need the card.

Quiet. Thanks for providing that information. I think I'll give it a try. If it works I'll report back.
If anyone else has experience with this let me know. Thanks!
