can some one explain why a glock gen4 is not ca approved but a gen3 is? The roster do not specify any gen requirement for example looking at a gen 4 g23 and the roster show (23 / Steel, Polymer Pistol 4.02" .40 S&W 1/1/2017) no gen requirement thank you

The roster certainly does state gen requirements. Look up Glock. At the top in big red letters it says:
"No Generation 4 Glock handguns have been approved as of: Sunday, January 03, 2016" -
Can somebody please explain why engraving or Cerakote will make a pistol no longer on the roster? Simply put OP. It's the law. Unless it's listed on the roster it can't be sold by a dealer to joe public. And yes. There is a difference between gen 3 and 4 for the Glock.Interstate Transfers $100 (DROS included with the price)

Then there is the question of which version is actually listed. It can't be a Gen1, Gen2 AND Gen3, it is only one.
One could ask why the same firearm, but made in the USA, is not acceptable either. I wonder if they could get the USA versions listed, assuming that they are identical, but I think the Gen4 came after the microstamping requirement.Kemasa.
