    Second hand dealers license

I just got a hold of the detective in charge of issuing business licenses for firearms retailers and asked him about the process in obtaining a second hand dealers license as the CALDOJ website says that it's up to the Local law enforcement agency..

Well the detective had no idea what I was talking about.

Any suggestions on where to go from here

It depends on where your business is. Some cities issue them, some counties issue them, or if you are like me you have to get the state one.
You, you, and you: Panic. The rest of you, come with me.
Incoming fire has the right of way.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Most agencies have no idea that this is their responsibility to handle these things. Unless you live in a city that issues a few of these per year they probably have no idea how to handle these. Good luck, keep asking and inform them that they are the ones who issue these things.

(FYI, why are we still going through our local LEO's for pawn/ 2nd hand licenses now with the new CAPSS systems anyhow? Why doesn't the DOJ issue these directly to us??? Waste of resources at the local level if you ask me.)

Go to the local pawn shop and ask them who issued theirs
