Cancelling DROS and refund process

What is the process for cancelling a DROS that was placed today? I'd like to cancel the DROS and apply it for next the DROS. Do I lose my DROS fee? Is it possible to cancel an order I placed with my LGS? It turns out the MC Operator I purchased today was the older model, with the black pachmyer grips, I wanted the new green grips that is pictured on the Springfield website. Not sure why I was shown the old model by the sales rep.

Probably because that one is On list for sale in CA.

The one you are speaking of shown on the SA website, is unfortunately not "On List"..

That is correct, the older model with the Pachmayr grips is on roster and you can purchase it. The new model is not on roster and unless you are LE/ roster exempt, you can't buy it new at a shop.

Thanks guys for the reply. That's what I figured after inspecting the good old attorney generals DOJ website. 9105 is on roster, while 9110 is not. I gotta get the hell out of California.

Generally in regards to DROS fees they are gone unless there is some other policy with the shop. The FFL does NOT get a refund from DOJ for any mistakes / cancels so I don't expect them to provide that to the customer, but some places may have provisions for providing a refund of even that fee. I've done it on a few special occasions, but it is NOT the norm. Be aware that depending on the reviewer of the DROS on the DOJ side it *may* count towards your 1-30 even if you cancel. Some FFLs have seen this happen, though I have not yet.

In short, be absolutely sure your transaction is ready to go (inspection completed, confirmed correct firearm) before you start the paperwork!

Sure liked Verizon better, there at least a cancelled DROS was not billed.
