    Interstate agency transfer and buyback

Ok have a quick question to run by everyone. Have an agency that wants new semi automatic m4's and shotguns over the next few years maybe 3-4 a year. But my question is- To complete the deal they would like me to buy back their old equipment on hand at a greatly reduced price in order to purchase new. But some are full auto and some are aow. So can a dealer take possession of them without it being illegal as long as they have proper permitting. Never had an agency ask this before. My thoughts are to break down the shotguns as parts as they are mostly unusable anyhow due to age and wear, and then just log all the receivers in A&D and then see if it's possible to have a local NFA dealer in that state deal with and to take possession of the autos as CA doesn't hand out DWP to often. If anyone has any knowledge in this area would greatly appreciate it. At this point I don't have enough experience with this type of situation and am hesitant to accept the contract since DOJ really isn't helpful with questions about anything.

If you do not have a DWP you can't touch them or even sell AW's to them.

You can broker the deal but can't touch the toys

They actually just want to get rid of them and go standard semi m4. But I do understand about the DWP and AOW rules as far as me actually not being able to physically make transaction that's where I was asking and you answered about having an actual NFA DEALER do the transaction and I would basically be the middle man. But as far as buying the old shotguns back from the agency would that take a type 2 ffl even if I don't plan to resell them?

If you have a department asking you to do this you have good cause for a DWP permit, I'd apply for one.

I would be interested in the full autos. I could have my local LEA make a request for them so I can get ATF approval for transfer. The SWAT team has been wanting cheap MG's here. They are jelly I play with MG's while they are stuck with SBR's.

PM me info on the guns including
Make, Model,, caliber, condition, qty, and price (I can get FA cheaper than semi-auto for departments so don't expect much for used guns. They are usually torched to save paperwork and wait times.)

And so it begins. I guess I'm going
To attempt it. We'll see how it goes. No holding my breathe
