    PPT ? re stolen guns

When a PPT takes place, is the firearm in question run through a database to determine if it has been reported stolen? I assume the FFL doing the transfer doesn't have access to AFIS where that info is listed, but is the serial number run by DOJ as a matter of course? Or will the system alert the FFL if the firearm is stolen?

    Thank you

The firearm will be run by DOJ. If it is stolen we are notified and the firearm is surrendered to law enforcement.
