    PPT and hsc

    Hi guys,
I currently own an ar15. now iam about to buy an off-roster springfield xdm from a ca resident. However i do not have an HSC.
I plan to meet the seller at a Local FFL . would i need an hsc in hand before my application is sent for dros?

thank u for taking the time to answer my question

Current requirement is pay, take test, pass, and get the new Firearms safety certificate. (unless you are one of the exemptions to FSC)

I just want to add that if you already have the FSC you won't need the HSC.

Handgun safety certificate has now been combined into the "firearms safety certificate". Must have a FSC to buy any gun in California now.

To answer your question, yes, you must have either old un expired HSC for handgun or current FSC for both rifle and handgun before DROS can be submitted.

HSC will not work anymore. FSC cover all of it now.

Unexpired HSC is still acceptable for handgun transfers.
