    Field Time

It has been a couple of months since Field Time went out of business. The last time I was in the store they had hardly any guns for sale. Prior to that they didn't have much foot traffic. Once I pointed out to them that they had incorrectly priced some 45.70 bullets for reloading. They had a price of about $450.00 on a box of 500. They said they would correct it and never did! So was it poor customer service that doomed them, or a bad business plan that didn't support the big store?

Are you asking us as FFL's why anther FFL is no longer in business?

Not exactly something we can answer for you.

Just curious as so many FFL's have gone bye bye over the past 30 years. Some were really great people to do business with and their presence meant there were more choices as to what was available to buy.

A lot off FFLs that I remember 30 years ago chose to close. As new regulations, limited inventory, required computer use, and general unfriendly state laws drove them out.

Their are still a few of us, but we are few and far between.. Some of us stay just for spite.

I think they bit off more than they could chew and did not correctly stock the store for what most people were going to buy. I believe one member here got boned when they went belly up he had some guns on consignment.

I bought 5-6 guns there but I limited my business there after I once got some attitude from the female cashier. Also I think the owner or one of the higher ups died. I never undersrood how much of a tie in to the current FT range they had they always had some sort of convoluted story about that when I asked.

No ties to the Ft range.

Kind of odd how it has the same name. When a shop swears up and down they aren't connected to another shop usually there is more to the story. When I spoke to the owner of FT gun shop years ago about the tie in he hemmed and hawed and evaded.

Piqued my curiosity again. I asked a couple of the guys at the range the day they closed shop and the answer was absolutely no relations and few other comments with regards to why they closed down. Im going to ask again next time I am there. Identical names does seem strange.

I wouldn't expect a 100% truthful answer. I suppose they are under no obligation to tell us their business. Gun Effects swears up and down they are not connected to Enterprise but that seems odd too in many ways.

Some crossover in personnel it seems, having near identical setups at gun shows. I actually like Gun Effects but it is funny to see them deny it. I can see the reasons why though.
