    before 10-days

    Good Day to all!

    I have a uncommon question...
I got an AK on trade for a fire-Safe.
Sign'd for it/8-or more days to go now.

Can I have another Party sign for it/trade it off before the 10-days is up?
seeing as I would not be taking Possession of the Rifle?
at the Same establishment it is Currently being held in of course?
or Do I have to Wait till the end of the Month to trade it off for the Two Wheels With Title I need for General Transportation?

I couldn't trade the Safe for wheels.......
Had to trade for a Firearm;-)

I already have a few clean title's to choose from/might be better to wait and make a List;-?

You could have the DROS cancelled and then another person submit a DROS for it, assuming that the FFL finds that acceptable. It would not be a PPT, so the fees would not be limited. If you wait, it could be done as a PPT.

Then again, in thinking about it, if you did the transfer as a PPT, then if you cancelled the DROS, the firearm would have to go back to the seller or be turned over to the police.

So I would say if you submitted the DROS as a PPT, the answer would be no, you need to wait.

      Makes sense...

Well, I guess your right about the transfer.
if I don't take Possession, and the other party doesn't pick it up after the extended period or is otherwise rejected...I wouldn't be able to get it back.
      this seems to BE Logical.

      Thank YOU!

I wouldn't want to Loose the opportunity to trade it again or sell it twice... if someone who makes a deal with me either leaves it in the dealer to-long or something Like get's arrested?

even if it's a failure to appear...
I'd get the gun Back if they don't actually Take possession of it from the dealer?

      interesting...
I gotta hash this stuff out, as I've only ever transferred a few Firearms.
it's Not Like I have anything Other than Time and Effort into this Par1 AK...

The CA PC dictates what has to happen with a firearm in a PPT when they buyer can not get it. That is not to say that the FFL will follow that, but it is supposed to immediately go back to the seller and if that can not be done then it has to go to the police.
