    Ar pistol lowers?

    Hi
Im looking into building a AR pistol when is a good place to under stand the laws for owner ship and how to go about registering a lower ? Some of the sites I have seen are to say the least confusing and it seems depending on the local gun shop I visit there views and definitions change ? Also what is needed if I purchase a lower from out of state that is currently used as a pistol lower??
    Thank you

Unless you have an exemption (CA LEO sale, etc), you can not acquire a stripped AR receiver to use as a handgun.

You can acquire a dimensionally compliant single-shot bolt-action pistol or dimensionally compliant single-shot break-top AR pistol.
