Question on storing firearms for Pohibited persons

How many of you guys are doing this?

I see that there is a form BOF 992 ( Report of firearm storage for prohibited persons) that you are supposed to fill out and mail in to DOJ.

So do you enter this also into your bound book? It seems like you would have to, but then why have the extra DOJ form?

Any feedback from you guys who are doing this is appreciated.

We did it for one guy that had a TRO filed. In the A&D book we entered the normal info and "In Care Of DOJ" per their instructions. He ended up consigning most of them with us.

Bump. I am an attorney with a client who needs a dealer who can pick up firearms from an OC law enforcement agency pursuant to Penal Code 29830. Are there any local FFLs who are able to do this? The client is under a TRO where the hearing keeps getting continued, and we are approaching the date where the department is threatening to destroy the firearms (180 days under Penal Code section 12021.3). Thanks in advance.

Any FFL can do it. I have picked up firearms from LAPD before, but the distance is quite far for me, so it would cost quite a bit of money.

I'm in West Covina. Not that close to OC but not too far away.

I can do it but if it is OCSD they will require a consent to be bound from a judge that says we will not sell them to owner or their family

Also I haven't been able to find that form. Do you have a link? We were told they were going to add a safe keeping button to the fdas but still haven't seen it.

Is this the form you are looking for? DV-800 Proof of Firearms Turned In, Sold, or Stored

If you are referring to a form specific to the OC Sheriff, unfortunately I'm not familiar with that one.
