    firearm safe storage side-business question

i currently own a small gunsmithing business with specialty ordering,i am legit and possess my 01ffl,coe,on exempt certifed list(going to go regular certified list soon),insured, business license and such.

i have a few empty safes onsite and was curious if i could do a little side business storing firearms for others..

    a) leaving state and scared of theft
    b)worried about wife,family member,gf etc..etc..
c)deceased owner storage while clarifying what to do..
d)stressed about wife, husband filing tro or ro and owner wants guns away from home to prevent a "i am scared of him/her " situation...

whats the feasibility of this and requirement if any (other than normal lg book work)

i would charge a i cost amount for space and service and for the headache..

I don't see an issue with it. I think to prevent the DROS on return you should take them in for gun cleaning gunsmith services so you can return easily and even ship back directly if taking in shipment for gunsmith work/storage.

I would make sure you bulk up on insurance. You could easily end up with 100k+ of inventory with a small handful of expensive 1911s or other rare guns.

I tell all my customers that my safe storage is available, should they need it.

        Legal specifics aside...

Do yourself a favor and get a camera and video EVERY firearm that comes in, like they do when you return a car rental, serial #, finish, obvious scratches/dings, scope/sights, everything, while they are dropping it off, magazine present or absent, etc.

trust me, the first guy that picks up his raven and claims you ruined the finish and lost his EOTECH, you'll thank me.
