Starting an FFL business in Calaveras

I have all the permitting BOE, COE, FFL, Local business license. And now I'm having trouble finding out who issues local firearms license(LFL) in part B on CFD APPLICATION. No one can seem to give me an answer locally or with the state. One man stated from DOJ that I can get a letter stating my county doesn't issue one but I'm not so sure they don't or no one knows who would issue it. I live in a small community. So as of now I'm at a stand still. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Who is your police agency? Mine is issued by fremont pd. If you are unincorporated it might be County sherrif. If neither then ask them or local government that gave you business license for letter.

It's funny because they signed off on my business application for firearms dealer when I got my business license. But never gave me anything. We are unincorporated. I have a call into the sheriff secretary.

See and that's what I thought since my licens says retail sales of firearms. but it's not the business license number State guy called me back finally and stated that my sheriffs department had to issue it. And well they didn't have a clue about what or who issues it so they were going to look into it for me. Needless to say I'm on hold once again.

There seems to be no requirement in Calaveras County Ordinances to get any kind of business license from the Sheriff. If your business is in zones A or AP, you would need a special use permit thru the Planning Commission and the Supervisors. (It's in Title 17.)

If you don't yet have a lawyer to help you navigate this stuff I think it's probably time.

Lady from sheriffs office called me back today with good info. She says that our county uses the firearms business license as the local firearms license number.

Not a store front just online and in person by appt gun sales I sell everything outdoors now besides guns as of right now.
