    Gunsmith Question

I believe I know the answer to this, but wanted to verify.

    Scenario 1:
    1. Customer purchases stock Glock 19 from Company A in California
    2. Company A does work to it
    3. Company A wants to ship it to me and have me run as Gen3 Glock 19

    Answer:
Not possible because Gunsmith work occurred before initial DROS to end customer, correct?

Correct order of operations should be:
    Scenario 2:
    1. Customer purchases stock Glock 19 from Company A in California
    2. Company A ships to me and customer DROS's Gun
    3. Customer then ships either through me or directly back to Company A
    4. Gunsmith work happens
    5. Company A ships direct to customer or through me depending how shipped out.

    Correct?

Wanted to be sure I didn't miss something recent that allows the Scenario 1 to be legal.

    Thanks

      You have it right.

Firearm needs to be "AS TESTED" by the DOJ

That being said "Sights" can be changed but that's about it

Thanks - in this case it was Salient Arms doing more than just sights...you'd think they know better since they are a CA based company...

They don't. I had a girl at Salient one time tell me the DOJ told her it was OK as long as the original gun was on Roster. She told me I was wrong and plenty have been shipped to CA dealers. I told her is must of been before Single Shot exemptions were over and she said this was recent and to ship back the gun so she could send it to another dealer who knew the law.

I wonder if they got it in writing and provide that to dealers. I'll ask them for it and see if they can provide it.

I already asked and they told me no. I tried to warn them and they blew me off. I only work so hard to help stupid people.

they also do not collect sales tax "it's all labor"
Also trying to get a INV from them so that you can comply with BOE is like pulling teeth

I make the invoice my customer's problem. I put in what I believe is MSRP and if they want to dispute I have no issue refunding them with a copy of an invoice.
