    Denied

I have my first denial. The interesting thing is that the customer dros'd a pistol and a rifle. The pistol was denied but the rifle has not been denied. Anybody seen this before?

It happens, same goes for delayed. We had a regular buy a pistol and a rifle. His rifle was put in delay and his pistol was cleared for DROS. After 30 days we released his rifle.

With denials though you will probably get another notification when you login before the 10 days is up. And then in about a month you'll get the letter.

How far apart before they catch this? The pistol denial was last Friday so I thought the rifle would be denied by now but it hasn't. The 10 day is up tomorrow.

Hmmm... all of mine have come within a few days of each other. I'm not sure what I would do in your position. I don't think I would be comfortable releasing the rifle knowing he has been denied for the handgun. Delays are one thing but a denial is a totally different animal.

This customer previously was dmv rejected. He waited 30 days and redros and it was denied this time on the pistol.

I haven't seen it taken that long.

Was this one a DMV or a Prohibited?

Last month it was DMV reject and customer went to dmv to fix his expired license and came back to dros after 30 days. I will call CA DOJ tomorrow.

Ever think that the handgun was denied because of a 1 in 30 violation? And that's why the rifle wasn't. Just asking to clarify

I thought 1 in 30 violations are rejected instead of denied? We also waited until what we believe was after his 30 days were up before to re dros.

If it was a 1 in 30 it'll say it on top of the notice and in the system

The notice says purchaser prohibited so that is why I don't think it's 1 in 30. The rifle dros is still pending and 10 day is up later today.

I would not release the rifle if the other DROS came back as "Prohibited" as you have been informed by the DOJ that this person is in a prohibited class.

I would get on the PH with DOJ and find out what "THEY" want you to do

Yes, I agree. I don't think you should let that other firearm go. I would also just like to say that you need to inform your customer that he has been found to be a prohibited person and needs to get rid of any firearms he has in his possession. As you probably know there is a BOF form you are supposed to give them with their denial.

Yeah, there is no way you can hand this guy the prohibited persons paperwork with instructions on how to dispose of any firearms they own, then turn around and hand him a rifle.

Looks like DOJ has some explaining to do. They dropped the ball on this one. Now you have to do their job for them.
