    Boundaries and 1-in-30

Do any of you FFLs have a link to official L.A. boundaries? Reason being is I can tell Turners Reseda is within the limits because they can't sell subcompacts. However, when I've been to shops as far as Stockade or Ammo Bros Santa Ana, who -can- sell subcompacts, they still waggle their finger about the 1-in-30 (regarding PPT) though "city of los angeles" in google maps has them outside of L.A. Are they simply misinformed about their coordinates?

    And a tangent:
    - Pay for car, receive title (receipt), leave with car, register later.
    - Pay for gun, receive receipt (title), ten day hold/30 day lockout, hope DROS (registration) doesn't get rejected.

I know CA gun laws only punish the law abiding but don't the car and the gun become my property once I've paid them off? In the penal code regarding ten day waiting, it states that an exemption exists if the gun is property being returned (as in, hadn't been in the owner's possession, example: held by the LGS). The .gov lawyers cherry pick for gotchas all the time like this. Could this technically be in our favor? Just a ponderin'.

I've never had a problem with 1 in 30 on a PPT. Maybe it's your address. I'm not sure how the LA statute reads, but they may be thinking that if you live within the city limits, then they have to comply, regardless of where they are. Just a thought.

I've never run into a problem either. I have read in CG threads that the address of where the PPT is processed dictates whether the restriction does or does not apply. This is interesting being that CCW permits are dependent on your home address.

CCW is a state license - jurisdiction to issue lies with the agency that serves your residence address. (City/County may overlap for this purpose - either agency might issue to city residents.)

LA City's 1-in-30 applies only inside its boundaries, since that is the limit of its jurisdiction - it is a restriction on any sale inside the city limits, even if the buyer is from Long Beach.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
