    S&W "A" UPDATE?

So, have any of you dealers received/sold any "A" or "B" stamped S&W revolvers yet?
I have seen some 629 PC revolvers on Gun broker with the A on the box code, but not stamped revolvers yet.

I believe the model 60 that I just got has it stamped. I can take a picture later.

We have been getting them here and there this year. They started making line changes last year so pretty much any current production model has the correct letter. I always ask to be sure but I have never had a vendor come back with it not having the right mark for the roster if it was received recently. They don't always catalog the part numbers that way so I assume it is new stock and ask but it always has been so far.

This one is nearly unreadable under low-light conditions but I guess it'll do:

That's the worst one I've seen yet. All I've got have been also marked "A" on the box too in one of the part number so I'm sure it's fine if DOJ came in but it would be nice if they didn't grind half of it off

One of the numbers on the label reflects the "A" (upper-right) but not the other (left):

I have received about 10 this year so far and that's how they all look except usually the actual mark is a little more clear. All my cases and labels have looked the same as this one

So, you are saying any new stock item will have the A? That would be a good thing since the vendor's online catalog doesn't reflect that.

Any confirmation from S&W that they are currently only producing the "A" and "B" models?

Short answer is yes. Every one I have ordered this year has had the correct mark but if you are concerned just confirm with the vendor before you order. Thad what I did the first few times but now I don't even check. Not saying it couldn't happen but so far is seems like most/all have converted
