    PPT information

    What is the current rules regarding the PPT.?
    If the gun is new, Does it fall under the 1/30 rule?
    If it is a PPT used is it exempt from the 1/30 rule?

      PPT is distinguished by both the seller and buyer being unlicensed 'private citizen' residents of California. Such sale is required to use a CA FFL, and all FFL procedures must be followed.

      Used gun or new gun may be in the sale.

      Unless in the City of Los Angeles, a ppt is NOT subject to 1 handgun in 30 days.

          A CA PPT is where both the buyer and the seller go to the same CA FFL in order to be exempt from the 1 in 30. New or used does not matter and as said, the DROS system marks it as used.

              A PPT could possibly be a consignment firearm as well depending on how the dealer took in the firearm. This type of transaction would also be exempt from 1-30 (regardless of new/used status) and the private seller would not need to be present.
