    buy a gun in California?

My cousin is in the navy. He was just sent 5o monterey for post grad school. He is a new jersey native. He wants to buy a gun here so we can go shooting together more. He wants to practice when he is not in the, north bay.
I was under the impression you have to have a ca driver's license or ca I D card. Is there a exemption for active duty military?

There is. Active duty here under orders essentially makes you a CA resident. It differs between FFLs, but generally you need your Military ID and your Orders to buy a gun here.
Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

Patches sold here. I am not affiliated with this page in any way.

You have to be a California resident.

For a military member, the key question is "what kinda orders is he stationed here on?" If he is assigned here on PCS orders, and that would likely be the case is he is at the NPG to complete one of the graduate curriculums, then his military ID and PCS orders establish California residency.
If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.
