Car Registration - Not Valid Yet

Short question.

My vehicle registration was just completed.
The one I have is valid 5/26/2015 thru 5/26/2016.

So, today is only 5/07/2015. Would the registration listed above be acceptable for a PPT DROS?

Didn't see this. I would have to call about this one....I called, they said call compliance and ask them, by the time you call compliance, leave a message, ask your question and get a response it will be well after 5-26-2015 anyway....Curious to see what the outcome of this is. Good question OP.

Curious, but you don't have your previous registration to show or a utility bill as secondary proof?

I can see that it's reasonably acceptable, but the dates not matching to the date of the DROS makes me think it would be a no. I believe that documents should reflect residency at the time of the DROS.

I've never experienced this so good question none-the-less.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere about the proof of residency having to be during the period of validity. We got dinged because in our audit we dros'd a pistol and their proof of residency had expired by one day. And I seem to remember our violation saying proof of residency dates not valid or something. It was a minor thing and they didn't even care really, they just slapped our hands and said do better next time. But, that being said I would answer your question with a No.

I have other proof. So it's more rhetorical.........but a true situation.

We take those because there's another date on it when it says it is issued which falls in the 90 day window.

I don't know if it'll be kicked back in an audit because typically the auditor is just scanning expiration dates to ensure they are far enough out.

ATF requirements never specified a range of validity, just that it be a government document.

Considering utility bills can be up to 90 days old I don't see why an updated registration would get kicked back, but who knows with the DOJ.
