    Question on ID?

    Long story short....

My birthday was April 28th and my old Drivers license expired on that date.. Two weeks prior I paid the DMV by mail to renew for the next 5 more years, received my license on april 16th, good to go right? No I put the license loose in my wallet and it fell out on the 17th of april. So I go online DMV to get the first appointment and come to find out most are 30-60 for scheduling.

So I keep clicking and found one DMV in 29 Palms (1 Hr 45 min drive from my house)they had the first opening on April 30th, two days after my birthday.... Remember its just a replacement license, so they give me the paper copy until the hard copy comes in the mail..
I should note I have a second home in Arizona and have a current hard card AZ ID card

So here is what happened today.

I go to Turners as the seller, to do a PPT, they refused as my hard card Ca DL had expired by 6 days, the extending DMV paper not acceptable. I have my now temporary along with my now 6 day old expired license. I said I have a current AZ hard card. Brought my COE and 03 but the buyer didn't have either so I get that part, it's going to be a 01 PPT. OBTW these were C&R sales
    .
My questions are as the seller:cant out of state IDS be acceptable?
    Is Ca ID card acceptable?
You cant have out of state ID to be the seller?
You must have a current Calif DL to be a seller (no exceptions) as they said?

Why is the Seller so scrutinized I had tons of ID, Calif DL +paper, AZ ID hard card, COE, 03 License. you name it I had It. They even asked the buyer for two forms of ID, Ive sold tons of my collection and never heard them ask the buyer for two other then his HSC card which he had.

    Was Turners In Corona wrong???

    Thanks
Signed screwed, sitting by my mailbox

if it is a CA-defined PPT, nope. only CA residents can be the seller in a CA-defined PPT.

    Is Ca ID card acceptable?
yes, a valid hard copy CA ID would be acceptable.

not as a PPT. you could do it as a dealer transfer instead of as a PPT, but then the roster applies if it is a handgun and Turners is not limited to the $35 PPT limit. they could charge their normal dealer transfer fee which is usually 100+ in addition to the $25 DROS.

current hard copy CA DL or ID, or .mil ID with current PCS orders to CA.

because your AZ ID, COE, 03FFL doesn't prove your CA identity. an expired hard license is also not acceptable. neither does a paper license. only a current hard CA ID/DL is acceptable.

    Was Turners In Corona wrong???
    not that I can see.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

You can do that but the roster will apply to handguns unless all c&r and dealer can charge normal transfer fees and not the standard ppt fees which are much cheaper. However if buyer is ok with fees then good to go.

I received a call from a FFL representing the buyer, he says he'll charge $50.00per gun charged to the buyer X 3 C&R guns. I don't need my current California Dl license to ship them. Any reason I should send my current copy of my 03 and COE??? I'll pay for the shipping and insurance. What a hassle on awaiting my hard card license going on day 7

Where do you live or where are you willing to go? I am in Simi Valley and there are other FFLs here who are cheaper than that.
