Long story short....
My birthday was April 28th and my old Drivers license expired on that date.. Two weeks prior I paid the DMV by mail to renew for the next 5 more years, received my license on april 16th, good to go right? No I put the license loose in my wallet and it fell out on the 17th of april. So I go online DMV to get the first appointment and come to find out most are 30-60 for scheduling.
So I keep clicking and found one DMV in 29 Palms (1 Hr 45 min drive from my house)they had the first opening on April 30th, two days after my birthday.... Remember its just a replacement license, so they give me the paper copy until the hard copy comes in the mail..
I should note I have a second home in Arizona and have a current hard card AZ ID card
So here is what happened today.
I go to Turners as the seller, to do a PPT, they refused as my hard card Ca DL had expired by 6 days, the extending DMV paper not acceptable. I have my now temporary along with my now 6 day old expired license. I said I have a current AZ hard card. Brought my COE and 03 but the buyer didn't have either so I get that part, it's going to be a 01 PPT. OBTW these were C&R sales
.
My questions are as the seller:cant out of state IDS be acceptable?
Is Ca ID card acceptable?
You cant have out of state ID to be the seller?
You must have a current Calif DL to be a seller (no exceptions) as they said?
Why is the Seller so scrutinized I had tons of ID, Calif DL +paper, AZ ID hard card, COE, 03 License. you name it I had It. They even asked the buyer for two forms of ID, Ive sold tons of my collection and never heard them ask the buyer for two other then his HSC card which he had.
Was Turners In Corona wrong???
Thanks
