Form 4473

In an effort to save time, will an FFL get bothered if I show up with my own pre-filled form 4473?

Save time? It takes about 2 min top to do it.

Yeah, but what usually happens is they give you the form, you go off to the side, the dude goes off to help someone else and in 2 minutes you're done but his still helping that other person. Some dumb arse asking 20k questions.

In my shop you will use the ones we provide.

It only takes a minute to fill out and I can do the state end the same time you are doing the federal end.

Maybe choose a different shop that doesn't treat you like this or is more efficient? As with CondorGuns I do the state paperwork while the customer is doing the 4473.. inefficient shops do it like you've seen.. not only is he wasting your time, but he's essentially spending more time on the transaction then he needs to be.

Also, in my shop you fill out the 4473 on a computer so I can effectively read/audit the paperwork so coming in with it pr-efilled does me no good and doesn't have my transaction number filled in either which is calculated by my computer.

At my shop whoever helps you start to finish stays with you the whole time. Here, the time it takes to do a firearms transaction only depends on how fast you can write while we type. And were 70 WPM typers! I don't understand why somebody would start a transaction with a customer then leave to go help a different one.

But to answer, would it bother me? Yes, because 1 you probably don't have the ATF copies that's the folded printed both sides one and you have laser copied and now have 5 pages and I strange like that were it bugs me to have 1 4473 out of the thousands we have that are photocopied. But I'm just a weirdo.

There is an issue with having it pre-filled out since then the FFL does not know who actually filled it out. The person doing the transfer is required to fill it out, unless they can not read or write, then other requirements apply.
