Making the switch. Home based FFL to Storefront.

Been kicking around the idea of opening up a small brick and mortar store. It'll require switching from DBA to LLC and adding a partner on the documents. Has anyone gone through this and if so how difficult was it?

Also, if I employ others, are they covered under my FFL and able to issue 4473 forms, access the DROS account and issue the FSC test?

    Thanks in advance!

I can't speak to a lot of the details of the DBA to LLC change over other than you'll likely need an entirely new FFL. You should be able to use the same CFD number, but the partner will need a COE IIRC.

Employees can act as an agent of the FFL to issue 4473s and submit DROSs. To administer the FSC test and issue cards they will need to be certified FSC instructors.

You might want to kept your current FFL and just create a LLC and get a new FFL for that.

So I WILL have to get a new FFL? Is this just through ATF or will I have to do the entire DOJ ect process?

Since you said that you are going to go with a LLC, then that is a new FFL and it is not in your name. I am not sure of how much is different. The COE would not change since it in your name and they don't issue it in a company name.
